Doing
- GSC has completely de-indexed this blog for some reason, so even if you search “site:blog.james-zhan.com,” nothing would come up. I’ve decided to migrate this blog to a new subdomain. For the migration, I will have to do the following:
Transfer the root domain from GoDaddy to Porkbun for URL forwarding so that URLs of blog posts on this blog will be redirected to the corresponding post on the new blog (transferring domains seems complicated and I don’t look forward to that)UPDATE: I DID IT! That wasn’t so bad!Copy the design of this blog to the new blogUpload all the files to the new blogCopy all the blog posts over and make sure the new paths are identical as the old onesPublish a post on the old blog about the migration, in case anyone RSS’ed my blog (I know of at least 1 subscriber, haha)Finally, set up URL forwarding
- Planning a trip to Portugal in 2026
- Since June this year, I’ve been learning 🇵🇹 European Portuguese 🇵🇹 with the fantastic Practice Portuguese. Aprender português é difícil, mas é divertido e eu gosto! A minha esposa e eu vamos viajar para Portugal no próximo ano.
Entertainment
Anime: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
I’m rewatching it along with my wife. It’s her favourite anime of all time and I really liked it the first time a few years ago. I don’t think I fully absorbed it then, so I’m enjoying this rewatch so far.
Game: Subnautica
Subnautica is one of my favourite games of all time, but, funnily enough, I never finished my save during my first playthrough because I was too scared. I “finished” the game by watching a playthrough on YouTube. I got the itch of playing it again after hearing about all the Subnautica 2 drama, and this time, I want to be brave and finish the game!
Music:
I’ve been listening to the OSTs from Into the Breach on repeat from front to back for a month now. I’ve never played the game, but I stumbled upon the OSTs and they immediately captivated me.
Book: The Resistance Painter by Kath Johnathan
It’s a historical fiction set in World War II Poland, written by a Canadian author. I’ve been reading it when I’m commuting and I’m enjoying it so far!
