Rabbit holes I’m currently going down
- Coffee recipes for Nespress pods: I ordered a portable espresso maker, OutIn Mino, for my wife to make coffee drinks at work with Nespresso pods, and I’m on the hunt for recipes that she might like. (Related: I Tried Nespresso for the First Time as a Coffee Snob)
- Mineral concentrates for coffee water: As a coffee snob, I make my own special water for brewing my light roast coffee beans. I’ve been using Third Wave Water, but I’m thinking of trying out Lotus Water or Apax Labs’ mineral concentrates so I’ve been reading up on them.
YouTube
In the last Now update, I wrote that I was mulling over the future of my channel. Well, I still am. My channel has been mostly recognized for testing Apple Silicon Macs for music production since 2021, and, with the imminent release of M5 Pro and Max chips, I’m genuinely not sure if I want to make my usual testing videos for them. I’ve always wanted to review more variety of tech items but have always been held back by the thought that many of my subscribers only subscribed for my Mac testing videos. But maybe I will just have to go ahead and do it; otherwise, if I’m not having fun, I don’t know what the point of having this channel is.

Reading
- Elements of Typographic Style by Robert Bringhurst
I read this book during my undergrad doing typesetting for a novel as part of a capstone project but I have barely any memory of what I read. Labouring over the typefaces for this blog just made me want to re-read this classic again.
TV: Schitt’s Creek
Music: I’ve been mostly listening to a compilation playlist I made consisting of various video game music I like, but recently I discovered Pylot and DAMN I’m obsessed! This is my favourite track so far:
Another album I recently discovered and fell in love with is the original soundtracks for the video game, Absolum. What a banger!
